A question for No. Calif. delivered Tesla 3's: how long to receive plates?

How long has it taken for anyone gotten their California plates....3 weeks, 4weeks, etc.

4 weeks, maybe 5. I got my title a week before I got my plates.

On my X, they never got the plates. I had to escalate it to the DMV to get it.

If you are asking for the sticker, you can send in the form as soon as you have your vin. By the time they process it, your plates will be issued.

probably because my car is leased, the owner is tesla finance and so the DMV sent plates to them, and then tesla forwarded them to me.

i didn't - at first i didn't even realize that the temp registration in the glovebox was another license plate. but when i got the real plates i pretty much put the front plate on right away.

given that people steal plates to put on stolen cars to use in crimes, it sucks that it's so easy to get the front plate off of a tesla.

Can't one always just unscrew the plates? That's how it's been for all my cars. Maybe you have anti-theft screws.

Are you saying someone would rip off (literally) the taped on license plate holder on the front?

yes of course you can unscrew any license plate, but here all it takes is a good yank and the front plate is yours.

Took delivery on 12/04 and plates arrived during first week of Jan via Tesla. I am sure it was the year end crush of sales on the delay since the DMV issued the registration on 12/22.

Took delivery 12/4 and still no plates! Tesla's giving me run around telling me to hold tight until mid February....
