Okay, I give - where did this show up?

(D)ual motor AWD supercar. Will cost $200k but outperform almost if not all supercars. Just my guess. Wow, let the fun of speculating begin. They did already confirm the somewhat more affordable sedan will be the Model 3. My guess is we won't see that until Detroit at least but maybe we'll get to see the final version of the Model X.

I'm thinking that the "D" is in fact the "Dual motor" supercar based on the Model S. My imagination says that in addition to AWD, this vehicle will have a superior thermal management system for more sustained high-performance driving.

The "something else" is Model X Beta.

It doesn't make sense to me that they would use a whole new model number for the S with a second motor.

I don't see the "D" as being a new model, it is like the"P" version of the S: a new version.

The P wasn't a new version. Arguably the + was, but the P wasn't. It was available simultaneously with non-Perf at launch. In fact the first two vehicles (Jurvetson and Elon) were Perf.

Why do you guys think the "D" is for anything? I thought the whole thing was that the models would spell SEX.

So going along those lines, it could be D so that Elon could say "S E X D". Or alternatively "D S E X" (as in de-sexed...probably not as good!!).

I think it's going to be a long wheel base Model S for the Chinese market.

Notice that the "D" is in the same font as the "P" in "P85". Suggests another trim level of the Model S to me -- perhaps dual motors as others have suggested?

The word "little" isn't present. That suggests to me it has nothing to do with Model 3. Elon wouldn't have omitted "little".
