Acceleration limited on road trip HELP!

on a trip from LA to Las Vegas I couldn’t accelerate the car when going high speeds. It was a speed limit cap it was at speeds from 40-90mph.

I would have he accelerator to the floor and nothing. There were little dots where normally the black line follows your rate of acceleration

Is the car in valet mode? Or does it have the speed limit function on?

At minimum go into driving and make sure you aren't in chill mode

Autopilot maxes out at 90mph. I've never gone faster than that.

At least they joined a month ago, otherwise I'd suspect the valet was trying to figure out how to get out of valet mode to "test" the car.

Sounds like loaner mode (or whatever it's called) was engaged. Different from Valet and Chill Mode; also older than both.

The dots indicate the car is limited in some way usually temperature.

Sounds like overheating issues. Those dots appear when the battery is too cold or too warm. The more dots the more dire the problem and the more limited you are to protect the car.

I think it really is something like this or like a rental limited by the owner. Has anyone turned on the speed limiter in their car and see if the dots show up in the same place if you try to go over it?
