FYI, my dad who took delivery March 9th texted me yesterday to let me know that he got word that his transfer was happening soon. I don't know the specific definition of "soon" but there's movement. If it were to happen today that'd be about 7.5 weeks since delivery.

He's slightly miffed that he'll soon not be able to harass my wife about not plugging in our S :D

I have sent 3-4 emails over the last four weeks about my VIN transfer, including a new one yesterday. I haven't received a response in weeks. I just checked my account and the VIN has been moved! I checked a day or two ago and it wasn't moved at that time.

Took delivery on 3/23, so it took about a month.

I just checked the other day and it had been moved as well!! Took delivery on 2/16 and got the account moved on 5/5. I did not receive any notification that it had been moved and was only contacted by email about a week after to let me know it had been completed. There's even a delay in their notification process...so make sure you check your account and don't just rely on their call or email to let you know.

Now I have to drive an hour north to where I took delivery of my car because they forgot to give me the Die Cast Model 3 when I took delivery.

Thanks for the input. This info came from my ISA when she confirmed my delivery day/time:

App Access:

1. The primary key for your new Model 3 is your phone!
2. If your vehicle was ordered through another individuals Tesla account or additional access is needed (such as for a spouse) – please make your request to your delivery experience specialist the day of delivery. Any post-delivery app access requests will need to be made to our customer support team at [email protected] or 1 (877) 798-3752.
3. Any individuals needing app access must create a Tesla account before the request can be processed. Accounts can be created here.

Despite what it says about talking to the delivery specialist at delivery, I already sent an email to the address above asking for the VIN to be moved. I'm sure it won't do anything because I don't even have the car yet, but I'm hoping it helps get the ball moving.

Real head scratcher if you ask me.

Did this help get it moved any quicker?
Edit: nevermind. Read the rest of thread

Picked up my Model 3 Friday. Here is what my delivery specialst emailed me about getting the VIN moved:

"To transfer an account for Model 3 first you will create your own MyTesla account. Then you email [email protected] with the VIN number and the usernames of the account that the car is currently under and the account you want to transfer it to. They will reply with a few verification steps and the whole transfer process takes 5-7 business days."

No VIN movement yet. Will update when there's something to update.

Thanks for this information!
