So I found out that the increased tax is the 'luxury' tax in BC. I didn't realize this.

Please let me know if people are actually being contacted by their delivery specialists within this 48he time period.

Oakville provided me with the following updates :

California's order operations team said they are not producing any vehicle for Canada right now. They will start producing cars again for Canada next month. No exact date (early, mid or late) ?

I spoke to Tesla today. The rep said they're always making cars and shipping them where they have confirmed orders with down payments. Cars get built, trucks get full and shipped out. He could not give me an exact timeline, but noted that I ordered a month ago so I should probably hear something in a week or so. I thought that was reassuring.

This was exactly the same answer they gave me couple weeks ago ! Now I passed the 8th weeks then they make up some other reasons ...

I actually heard from Tesla today in response to me wanting to change from cash to financing and was given the following canned response:

"You will be invited to apply for financing when you are closer to delivery. Since loan approvals are only valid for 30 days, when you are within 30 days delivery of your Tesla an Inside Sales Advisor will be reaching out to you to confirm the final process including how to apply and take delivery of your Tesla."

I got a call from a Tesla sales rep yesterday to confirm my AWD order. She said I could expect a VIN "soon", and delivery 4-6 weeks after that, so delivery "mid- to late-September..?" [her hesitation at the end]. So fingers crossed, but we'll see. (See "AWDs coming to Canada?!?" in this forum). Delivery in that time frame would still align with your info that Canadian cars would be built in August or after.

I did same as you. Amazingly, I was approved within 24 hours of changing my payment option, even though I don't expect delivery until at least mid September (see "AWDs coming to Canada?!?" thread)

I've been "receiving it soon" for the past 3 months, LOL. After I configured (April 30) it said 4-8 weeks which I knew would be unrealistic. It disappeared quickly and haven't had a delivery estimate since. It now says Aug '18-Oct '18, which is the standard 1-3 month estimate.

Sorry to hear that, and hope you get a concrete confirmation soon, @drowningfish. I had a similar call yesterday (no VIN, just confirming my order) that's got my hopes up for a late September delivery, but I'll remain sceptical given your experience!

Unfortunately I've already called them and requested a refund. I'm going to wait for the SR, possibly with AWD, which was my original plan before being invited to configure. Good luck with your order, hopefully it's not a long wait!
