Just documenting my experiences with the X. It appears that the hardware that secures the driver stanchion to the trunk lid is loose which allows the stanchion to slide back and forth. This makes a horrible noise when the spoiler moves up and down. Both the driver and passenger side stanchion's appear to be missing
the rearward screws. I suspect that the screws were not torqued, pulled through, or did not have thread lock in place.

Nope. *If* it works, it's neat. Mine works. I'm glad i have it.

Admittedly, it's another example of something that was way too cute, unnecessary and overengineered on the model X. And for very little payoff. Even when it's working all it does is allow your SUV to look like an Audi A7. But even still I love it. At the very least it differentiates mine from the vast majority of other X's .

At least when it's parked. 🙂

I'm hoping the new parts have been redesigned. But, considering the new spoilers are fixed...I'm not holding my breathe. I'm going to try to get the original parts back so I can inspect them. I suspect a thread pulled out, or a bolt just got loose.
