Adding gloss to the carbon fiber trim

The interior carbon fiber trim has a matte look as opposed to the glossy depth of many other CF finishes (like the spoiler). I am looking for simple ideas to add gloss.

Adding a gloss finish to the CF pieces will most likely not be possible without removing dash pieces and repainting them with some sort of clear coat or gel coat. The Shiny appearance of carbon fiber is usually a result of the manufacturing process. Usually wet carbon fiber has the appearance you’re referring to. Wet carbon has an epoxy resin injected into it throughout the curing process resulting in a very smooth surface. A body shop may be able to remove the parts and clear-coat them to give that appearance but it may be a risky DIY job if you don’t have any previous autobody experience and using products like that inside your car with minimal ventilation is definitely not a good idea

I am considering it on my Model S. You need a good installer though to make sure it's done right. Not a DIY project.

As a heads up. Dry carbon fiber is a higher quality product(as a general rule) than your glossy finished carbon fiber. To get a quality dry cf finish is more demanding than a glossy finished cf.

In automotive circles, a dry cf is more admired.
