As someone who was freaking out about the seeming lack of Tesla's involvement in the Aliso Canyon storage requirements, this is very welcome news indeed. Other utilities will also be installing systems, and it'll be interesting to see who they select.

In this deal, appears Tesla is the hardware supplier (52MWh of Powerpacks) to SolarCity, who is the project developer.
