Adjusting Steering Effort. Is it more than just steering?

I live in a rural area and frequently travel on one particularly bumpy road. Recently I had switched the steering effort to Sport. When I traveled this road, the suspension seemed much firmer, to the point of being uncomfortable. The next time I traveled the road I put it on Comfort and the suspension seemed softer. Does adjusting the steering mode also tweek the suspension?

The Model Y doesn't have air suspension, or any sort of adjustable dampening for the coil suspension it has to my knowledge. So, I don't think it could be changing the actual suspension.

What it would change is the amount of play in the steering feel though. Maybe what you are feeling is more tire position feel through the steering when in sport mode vs comfort. Suspension is bouncing around the same in both scenarios, but your steering input is sharper so you feel that more via the steering wheel. That would be my theory.
