Care to elaborate on this "some trim on dust shield edges for larger rotors"? What does it actually mean ?

It varies, depending on the mfg month. The earlier models has a concave black shield plate which requires trimming on the edges, but on later models Tesla changed it to flat shield plate ("Silver" color) that requies no trimming.
