after delivery, is FSD option subject to state sales tax?

Hey guys, if purchasing FSD update after the delivery, is the purchase amount subject to state sales tax, for example, is it $6000 flat or $6000 plus sale tax? Thanks.

I don't even understand why this is a question and not just an assumption. You are buying something that is not a commonly exempted item like food.

Depends on what FSD actually is... if it is defined as a digital good, then some states have specific tax laws that include or exclude it:

California has an tax exemption for pure software. For example, if you purchase an antivirus sw online and download it, it can be exempt from sales tax. (If you purchase the sw from a retail store and have CD's, then that is a physical item and subject to sales tax.)

FSD, however, requires a new computer (hw3 or maybe even hw4) be installed, so it is subject to sales tax just like any other physical item.
