Aftermarket interior light brightness on LR/P

I was thinking of upgrading my interior lights with these but I'm concerned that the front driver/passenger brightness may be very distracting at night when driving. Has anyone purchased these, or something similar and can confirm? The door and trunk lights definitely look useful and a big upgrade over the standard

I have this set. I love them. I don't turn on ambient light when driving. Why would you?

Ambient lights always on while driving - they are awesome. If you don't use them what was the point of upgrading to brighter ones?!

Lol if I'm driving at night I don't want any light inside except my speedo/tach and in this case my center screen.
