The great thing about the model 3 is that it is already so efficient that even a decent hit to range will not hit your wallet much. Where I live I pay $0.116 per kWh to charge my car at home (it is actually cheaper due to my solar array but this is a good number to work with) and drive about 500 - 600 miles a month. A quick back of the envelope calculation shows that if my efficiency drops from 250Wh/mi to 333Wh/mi going from stock 18s to 20s with sticky tires my monthly fuel costs go from ~$20 to ~$26 (assuming 90% efficient L2 charging in my garage). Honestly, that extra $6 a month is peanuts to get the look and feel that I want.
I don't say this to minimize range concerns that people do have for environmental, commuting distance, or financial reasons. But if you are willing to drop ~$5k on suspension mods, rims, and tires the efficiency hit to your wallet will be minor.
