Hi, a few months ago my dad, primarily on my enthusiasm, went out and bought a Tesla Model S Long Range... he's never been much of a car enthusiast but he absolutely loves the car and I love travelling with him in it.
Now, as someone who is 19 years old with a little over a year of having a full license, I recognise that it's highly unlikely that I would be able to convince an insurer to insure me on a car worth upwards of £79000, even if it was merely as a named driver on my dad's policy (who is 50 years old with 25+ years NCB), and sure enough after going through about 15 insurers, including a number of specialist brokers, I haven't had any luck in getting a single quote, let alone a quote at a reasonable price.
So, is it at all possible to get insurance for someone my age on a Model S, be it a full or even just a temporary insurance policy (such as one lasting a few days or weeks)? If not, at what age would insurers begin entertaining the idea of offering a quote on a Model S?
