Ahh ruined the white interior

I know people like to say they are indestructible. Well I would like to say they are not because the stupid car seat covers managed to ruin them by melting into it. The staining is not heavy, but enough has transferred to make it not fixable. I tried alcohol, leather cleaner, interior cleaner, water and soap and everything you can think of. I just made it worse instead of any better. Forget what they say on YouTube, you can definitely stain these seats to a point where you can’t fix it

By “melting into” them? I don’t understand, what do you mean?

I have heard a lot of people complain that with car seat covers the backing comes off. From the number of mentions on this forum it sounds to me like the safest way to protect your seats is to not try to cover them up with some sort of protector.

It is dangerous anyway, since seat covers will interfere with the deployment of the airbags, should they become necessary.

I think he's referring to car seat pads/protectors. Not full fledged seat covers. Some of them have a backing that will melt/blend into the seat, and essentially ruin them. Lots of such reviews on amazon.

3 of the seats are ruined

I have white seats also. This is what I use Dishwashing soap non bleach and a towel keeps the seats like new. Wet the towel add 3 - 4 big drops on the towel add more water it will foam up
Wipe down seats use another damp towel to remove soap. Make sure it's a lint free towel.
It works great

Even if the seat cover color does not come off, I think leaving it on for long will cause the section being cover to have different color. I have a set of 6 dining room chairs in cream leather. After a few years, the surfaces that face the window (only get direct sunlight for about 1 to 2 hours in the morning) are much much whiter than the rest. Sun bleaching. :(

As an alternative to these purpose-made seat protectors for child car seats, try using a towel of similar color to your car's upholstery. To be safe, wash the towel several times to remove excess dye. When the towel gets soiled from dropped food and spilled drink, just throw it in the wash. Also, the towel will breathe, unlike a plastic cover.

This is a great recommendation. Putting a black seat cover on top of a white seat and leaving it there long-term is asking for trouble.
