This morning, when I configured a new Model S order, it appears that selecting the Premium Upgrades option ($3500), this disables the standard seating and automatically selects Next Gen seating (an additional $2500).

Doesn't appear you can order standard seating with the Premium Upgrades option.

Unless this is a bug in the configurator, this appears to be a recent change - and could be due to providing air cooling ventilation as part of the Premium Upgrades option, for all cars (not just performance cars).

Since we would select both Next Gen seats and Premium Upgrades on a car we would purchase (when 100D's are available), this isn't really a price increase - but could be viewed as an increase if anyone wanted the other Premium Upgrade features and the standard seats.

I think it's because they've made the ventilated seats part of the package now--a must-have with that is the upgraded seats.

The really good news: Ultra-White seats are included! Perfect for warm weather states as it gives you the heat rejection of white, plus the ventilation too.
