Air Intake Cover

For the past year, I've had to park my car outside and have gotten a lot of leaves and debris in the air intake area. I bought a cover on Amazon (also available on eBay) that helps keep out the debris. Here is a video I made:

While this isn't expensive I would think that a fine mesh between the cover and air intake would serve a much better debris guard.

Won’t that hinder air intake and make the HVAC system work even harder? After all the HVAC/AC is used both for climate control AND cooling the battery (Along with the blue coolant) from what I’ve read. I like the idea but not sold on wether this will cause issues down the road. I’d hate to have warranty work and have Tesla deny coverage based on this add. Some guy just had the compressor on his X go out...blew shrapnel through his whole system hoses and all...needs everything replaced to the tune of 5K out of warranty. But who knows.

Yes, wire mesh or an equivalent would make a better solution. This device posted decreases overall intake. Much wasted space. Regardless, if the user were to check, daily, the intake grate and keep it clear, it should work as intended. “THAT” is the rub. Discipline.
