The first town ever hold an event called a "Grand Prix" will host the "1st Electric Grand Prix of Pau" the weekend of the 20th of May. The cars involved will be the same ones now participating in the Trophee Andros. Can't wait to see how they go on pavement.
The Andros Cars are electric race vehicles designed by Exagon Engineering: 120hp, 800kg for a range of 35min in race conditions, basically used on ice, the asphalt version receives bigger brakes and a supplementary cooling system.
Here's a link to the AutoblogGreen story of the races. The videos below have some bits of racing footage as well as some (French) interviews. The 2nd is an English news piece. Looks like some pretty intense racing, wish we could see what was broadcast in its entirety.
