Alberta Deliveries Waiting Room

No word yet, but only a few more weeks left (hopefully).

I have to remember next time to ask my DS how many they expect to deliver here. I assume that there will only be a handful given no EV rebates and AWD deferrals... anyone care to guess?

Yea, surprisingly super fast response from DS via email which makes me wonder if they're even getting any order so hopefully it'll be early June. I guess our savings are from the low tax and we don't have to pay a 3% luxury car tax haha

I configured April 25th. I was having difficulty submitting the front side of the second driver's licence and reached out to my contact at Tesla Calgary for assistance. He was in sales last year when I took a test drive on a Model S, then returned a few weeks later with the family for an overnight test drive. Ultimately we bought a 2012 Volt off Kijiji to hold us over until I knew more about the Model 3 and so that I'd have an affordable car for my kids to learn to drive on (the oldest's driver's ed course will be completed next week, then the test!). He informed me that he's no longer in sales, but has moved over to delivery.

He called me back a couple weeks ago to ask whether I would be coming to the delivery centre or whether I would be wanting a truck to deliver my car to my house. He affirmed that the car should be arriving sometime in June. Subsequently, May has been dragging on forever!

Last weekend our family went to Chicago where we rented a Model 3 on Turo for 4 days. The car was everything I had come to expect from reading these forums - in short, it was amazing! While there, I learned that AWD was going to be made available for configuration. I logged into my account on Friday (May 18) to see if I could edit my configuration to get a price for the AWD. Turns out the edit button had disappeared and had been replaced with "We will reach out to you to schedule your delivery date". I had read here about the trick of putting a Wall Connector into your shopping cart on Tesla's website and going to the checkout page to get a VIN. I decided to try this and got a 29XXX VIN. Went ahead and completed the order and the HPWC arrived today. I spent this evening removing storage bins and shelving where I want the HPWC to be installed. Time to call the electrician.

I reached out to my delivery specialist again to rave about my weekend and to report my VIN being available on in the shopping cart checkout page, but not on my Manage page for my Model 3, as well as to pry for more information about deliveries. He reported that some VINs were starting to get assigned (didn't specify whether he meant Alberta VINs specifically or just Canada VINs) and that he was hopeful he'd have more information on my car in the coming days.

The wait continues...

(Trust me, I'm not complaining. I'm actually thrilled (and feeling just a tiny bit guilty) about how quickly (relatively speaking) I'm getting my car! I reserved in August 2017 and my estimated delivery was late 2018, which I told myself was more likely summer 2019 - because 'Elon time'. To get my car in June 2018 is an extremely pleasant surprise, even if I've been stuck in a weird time warp where time passes excessively slowly since my configuration date!)

I had the exact same problem, but was able to get the license photo to work in Edge instead of Chrome. I was also April 25th, got a call May 11th saying end of June. I do have a vin with the check-out method, so hopefully things are moving along.

With regards to your difficulties uploading one of the photos, if you scroll to the bottom of the page and change the site to the US version, then try again, you may not have that difficulty anymore. That trick worked for me when I ran into the same problem.

First deliveries should be imminent.

Went for a little walk around Tesla Sales and Service center hoping to see a Model 3 and there are at least four hidden in a corner behind the building.

Photo proof attached :).

!!! Nice photos. Time to get a telephoto lens haha
Yeah that would have helped unfortunately I only had my phone on me.

I actually had no plans to go to Tesla store today but I happened to be nearby and I thought I’ll swing by secretly hoping there might be a model 3 parked behind getting ready for delivery.

As you can see model 3s are tucked away so you can’t see them from Deerfoot nor can you see it by simply visiting Tesla Center but I though since I’m here I might as well walk around just in case and as you can see it was worth it :). I was actually very surprised to see them and I’ve spent maybe a minute or so counting Model S and X before I actually noticed Model 3 headlights sticking out of the corner :).

They’re sneaky but you beat them to it! I think you need to take that walking route every day from now until delivery dates and make sure to update us haha

Got a call from my DS today. My vehicle is on a truck, due this week (assuming no border holdups). Delivery is scheduled for Saturday June 2 at 1pm!!! My VIN is 29xxx. I haven't been this giddy since I was a kid waiting for Christmas!

Congrats!! Who is your DS?
Adam. I've been dealing with him for a little over a year. At that time he was in sales and I was seriously thinking of a Model S. The family took one on an overnight test drive, then my wife and I decided our kids are NOT learning to drive on a $145K car! We bought a used Gen 1 (2012) Volt in the parking lot of Chinook Centre right after turning in the Model S we took on the test drive! We're keeping the Volt, it will be what my kids get to drive as well as the about town car for the parent not driving the Model 3.

That's awesome, congrats again on continuing that EV lifestyle.

I also got a call today, picking up Friday if all goes according to plan.

congrats! Do you have Adam as well? Does MyTesla now show VIN?
