Alcantara roof and steering wheel

Since I bought the car in 2019 I already want to wrap the roof and steering wheel with alcantara.

This is what should come out right from the factory. Not every piece can turn dark grey, but I am super satisfied with the result. Around USD1500 to do the entire job, including all the items below, plus do some sound deadening for free. For sure, with such quality, I will save up for the seat upholstery next.

- Alcantara roof
- Alcantara steering wheel (not wrapped on top of existing surface)
- Nappa leather airbag

Most major cities and towns have upholstery shops that will do work just like this.

The headliner? I'm good with. But that steering wheel - not sure I could drive with that thing. I don't like the feel of microsuede, at all. Looks good, but not for touch IMO.

Alcantara or microsued is not designed to be handled by bare skin, such as with a steering wheel. It wears out way too fast and gets gunked up. It's really great for driving gloves, that's why race cars often use it. Leather and gloves doesn't grip as nicely as alcantara and gloves.

For a daily driver, an alcantara steering wheel is absolutely terrible, unless you are going to commit to wearing driving gloves.

Looks nice! Could you advise what color code was used? I see the catalogue with number and the sample, but still not sure which one was used.

it is slightly darker than the door panel piece, same colour as the dash.

As for the handled by bare skin, there are different types for street use. The one I pick has very good grip, better than buy it online and could not try it before paying.


I also wrapped the door sills, B-pillars. absolutely awesome
