I had decided to short NKLA when the stock price was ~ $80 but it took me time to move money around and after a drop to $60 I got cold feet. I don't remember where the GM fiasco fit in.

perhaps Nikola figured out how to actualize and monetize Escher always descending staircases, perhaps by having a “micro black hole gravitational anomaly” held very carefully just in front of the tractor so it’s always going “downhill” using a variant of a “gravity well slingshot maneuver”

I'm afraid that NKLA did not enhance TC's reputation.
He went from troll to maroon, arguing that NKLA was the second coming of hydrogen that would squash TSLA. He is devoid of technical ability, but he should have been able to see through the NKLA virtual reality scam given how much time he spent. The funniest to me was the NIkola clip of a truck driving around in circles on a a dirt road as proof of the soon-to-be Nikola factory. How in the world did that fool anybody ?!
Honestly, he is a cautionary tale of what happens when preconceptions reign. I read TSLAQ enough to realize it was a cesspool of visceral hate, I presume fueled by losses gambling against TSLA. TC should come clean and tell how much he lost between shorting TSLA and pumping NKLA. I'll bet it was a hefty fraction of his net worth.
As for me ? I'm a coward for not taking out a $million option bet against NKLA given my certainty that it was a fraud.

Or money on the table. TSLAQ was a forerunner of the Reddit fueled 'meme' stocks. A bunch of clueless retail investors trying to use social media to manipulate the stock price, herded and prodded by a handful of shadow hedge fund operatives.
