I'm unable to use my water at home (hard, minerals, etc). Because it DESTROYS car paint. Seriously wrecks it.
So, I did the unlimited (1x/day) plan.

For 2017, I ran the report. 113 car washes. Mostly auto, but I also do hand bay, where I hand wash it.

for $26.95/month, this works out to....

$0.349/wash.

not bad! Now to hit it w/a Clay bar and wax next weekend. 27066743_10213386060818849_8303942505459367617_n.jpg

Congrats on the per wash amount.

I'm curious.. I'm not looking for estimates.. I'm curious about actual numbers. If you started a stopwatch when you get off your normal drive path and calculate how long it takes to go through the car wash and get back to your normal drive path.. How long are you spending on each wash, on average?

Interesting math.

I calculate (disregarding tax, which you may have on top of the $26.95/mo):

$26.95/mo x 12 (months) / 113 washes = $2.86 per wash.

Still good, but not $0.35 per wash. When I don't hand wash, I use an auto wash and buy discounted tokens (6 for $20), so my cost is $3.33 per wash.

No tax.

Crap you're right. I was doing 20 things at once again. $2.86/wash.

Guess I need to visit the car wash MORE often.

The real issue here, is that I can't do it at home. I've looked at $3-4k systems, that cannot guarantee results, combined with not having an automated wash bay at home...

so... $3,500 vs. $320/year = 10+ years... who knows if I'll even be in the home 10 years?!

For math fun, if I washed EVERY day, (365), cost per wash would be: $0.886

This car wash leaves my car looking good, and any water spots wash off easily at the next wash.
At home, my Tahoe's paint is WRECKED from hard water. Just horrid... ugh.
And I'm told the car wash recycles water, at least more so than running down my driveway, right?
