seems reasonable. the question then becomes, is Tesla making a profit on that $200 deductible for things like 12 V battery replacement?
my door handles have a bad habit of failing. so for me the ESA will be a must as I approach 4 years/50,000 miles. b/c my understanding is that replacing a single door handle out of warranty costs $1000 -- to say nothing of the $4000 center console replacement.
the only caveat to all this is will my car last the full 8 years to take advantage of this warranty? If a minor accident (think one step up from a fender bender) costs $25,000 to repare -- at which point will the insurance company balk at these repair costs, total the car, and make my ESA purchase worthless?
I wonder if I can negotiate with the insurance to recoup the (unused portion of the) ESA costs...
