I asked SC to check my battery degradation and they added a correction (remove & replace).


What is it mean? New battery?

Possibly, but you won't know until they hand you the keys, and new/updated invoice, back. Good luck and enjoy your, new to you, reman battery.

Most likely as @REckard said, remanufactured parts unless it can't find one, then you'll get new one. But that's not a guarantee either, it might let you loan a new one while waiting for a remanufactured one months away and they'll swap it back at that time.

invoice looks like its been replaced . interested in more details about your what led you to take it in for a check on the battery . car model , year , mileage .

I am taking 2016 S D90 71K for MCU 2 upgrade but since I am getting about 194 to 196 with 80% charge, I thought let them check the battery as well.

How much was your battery degradation? My 2016 MS 75 gets 195 miles at 90% and 217 miles at 100%

82% of the original range is kind of crummy. A new 90D was rated at 294 according to the Googles.

Early 90Ds, before the front end refresh, were rated at 288. Mine is a January 2016 90D, pre-refresh, and is now at 277. The battery was replaced at 921 miles because the range dropped to 100. They wouldn't tell me what happened but a lot of modules must have failed. It was bad enough that they didn't want it driven the 21 miles to the service center. They came and picked it up with a trailer behind a truck.

No, they are checking for free, which is good. But don't be surprised if they say it's normal wear and tear. Them having it as a line item doesn't mean it will get done. Just means they are planning for the worst and will decide and revise the invoice based on testing.

Almost certainly yes.

On the invoice it'll say REMAN or similar in the part number area. Post your invoice / service record.
