Am I going to miss a center console?

My Model S should arrive in a few more weeks, and I've had plenty of time to freak out about "wow, I'm spending a bunch of money on a car!"

Today's freak-out: Why doesn't the center console open? I never did figure out why the armrests sliding to reveal cupholders precludes a center console, nor what they did with that space underneath.

Anyway, is there enough space for stuff that's easily accessible to the driver?

There's plenty of room in the floor-level center console — and it's more easily reached too.

The arm rest cup holders are useless. They're narrow, shallow, and difficult to reach. There's a substantial cut-out on the backside of the console for rear passenger foot space, so a bunch of the interior volume on the pedestal goes towards the rear seat air ducts.

I second that. I really would like to have them in mine, but have not yet convinced myself to pony up 1250 for cupholders and a cubby...but it would look so much better than any of the other aftermarket ones.

Keep checking the For Sale section, Misfitz sells them regularly though has upped the price recently but still a lot better than 1250.
I bought one after I got my CPO car and love the factory look and real cupholders, also a "Norm Cubbie".
