Well, I don't know about the insurance industry in India but, in the US, if the insurance carrier can find "willful intent" in this issue, which is most likely, I don't believe they will pay out(?) Yet, even if they do pay out, they will drop him and he would need to find another carrier which will probably cost a great deal more for coverage.

Stories like this leave me a bit skeptical. Maybe the story is real. But all we really have are pictures of a car in a river and an outlandish story set in a location so far away that it would be difficult to check if it is true. As a general thing, I don't have much confidence in Yahoo as a news source. I don't think they have a news department of their own. They just pick up stories they think will get clicks.
