Ambient Lights/Door Bin Lights

Hi all

got a 21 plate loaner here whilst my 20 M3P is in SC for a day or two. Noticed that there’s ambient lights in the front and rear door bins, under the armrests it seems. My M3P doesn’t have these.

Anyone else have this?

There's all sorts of little tweaks here and there. Case in point - magnetic sun visors.

But yes, door pocket lights were reintroduced at some point in 2021, possibly on the first MIC cars - I'm not sure.

2020 was a bit of a funny period, we lost dimming wing mirrors as well, and there was a frankenstein model with the old console but with USB-C & USB-A in it.

Abstract Ocean do Puddle Lights and so on

You may have them but they’re just turned off which seems to be the default from the factory.

Alas not, 2020 cars don't have the lights or the wiring, as far as I'm aware.

Can confirm. I was really disappointed when my 2020 didn't have the pocket lights from the factory.

Totally off topic here but just noticed something else this loaner had.
The touchscreen said “bonnet” and “boot”
Mine says “Frunk” and ”Trunk”

Checked the region and language settings, all as they should be

Yup, realised that thanks , but if there was the thought to do some after-market then Abstract Ocean, or similar, might have some suitable bits and pieces.

That was a software upgrade a few months ago. There is now UK English language option which changes the names.

I’ve got touchscreen language set to English
Voice Recognition set to English
Voice Navigation set to English
Region Format set to UK

Still says Frunk and Trunk

I’ll give it a whirl mate. It’s no big deal to me, just seems weird how it’s not saying boot and bonnet.

You should be on Bonnet and Boot. What software version are you on?

Tried changing the language from English to Spanish, did the restart and changing it back to English again. Still says frunk and trunk

Nope. Just says English. Looked in the options and there’s no British English

Yup, few days into ownership. Glad I did as a 2/4 door cards weren't clipped in properly which could have resulted in a mysterious rattle.
