That adds them to the piling list of those who have done a cross country trip, which includes delphi...Missing in that list ofcourse is Tesla.

Self-driving car arrives in Seattle after 2,500-mile autonomous cross-country trip

They are also doing a return trip next week.

This shows you how EASY highway autonomy is.

Its amazing have very little to no fanfare this had, although if this were Tesla, people would be going nuts and saying Tesla is 5 years ahead of the competition and how they are first to self driving...

    crazy how misinformed people are.

Amazing achievement, but I'd love to see more details in the article.

Did the Torc engineers have to take over at any point, or was it fully autonomous all the way?

As an example, given the distances involved, it would have had to stop for fuel several times. Did it pull up to the pump itself and go into a waiting state, then continue once the engineers had refueled (and probably taken bathroom breaks), or did it expect the engineers to take over once it had reached a certain point, either the off ramp from the highway, or the entrance to the garage?

It may be easy but Tesla hasn't done it so I still want to see how well Tesla will perform.

Currently, Tesla automation system does not handle road debris such as "tire pieces".

So at least, if it will be able to do so, that will be an exciting improvement to cheer for accomplishing an "EASY" part.

    Those darn bathroom breaks...

And those darn door/window controls! Poor dude in Teslas LA-2-NY trip better be carrying bottles and napkins. ("No controls touched at any point during the entire journey"!)
