My key card has never worked well. Finally the dealer agreed with me and replaced the "b pillar" piece where the receiver is for the key card. Now it works brilliantly. I can simply tap the card and it opens. That said, I much prefer to use the phone as key when it works. I know they're not related but it made me wonder if the phone as key issues could be a problem with one of the receivers the car has. The car seems to have 4 bluetooth connections so presumably there are 4 receivers. While I can't say for sure, it seems that the passenger door is always easy to open. The problem I have tends to be with the driver's door.
