Ouch.. don't believe that's leather though, rather some kind of plastic. Hope you can get it fixed.

Keep us informed! That is really a defect, so, no way they won’t fix it.

Took it to the service center to see if I can get it fixed along with a laundry list of small issues I’ve had for a while now, they said it looks like someone dug their nails into the rubber part and because of that they can’t replace it under warranty as a manufacture fault. They said if I wanted it fixed they would replace the entire door panel which was quoted at $1,189 parts and labor.
Sad because I have no idea who could have done this. Anyone know of a cheaper solution for a fix? doesn’t have to be perfect.

Definitely looks like something or someone has indented that and not a defect. Just my .02

Any chance someone wearing a watch slid across the panel and it grabbed the material? I had a fluke scarring of my leather steering wheel (Lexus) from my wedding ring. It someone caught just the right angle and marked it.

This whole panel seems to be prone to some weird damage.

Here's what I found on mine. I have no idea how that could happen since it does not touch anything at any time. Looks like some sort of a tool imprint form the past Service Center visit?

I did have them replace my steering wheel because they managed to scratch it on one of the piror ones too



BTW the other doors are not much better, I had a bunch of problems and torn leather there too (some still not fixed - waiting for parts for over 2 months already)

Not to make light of your situation, but that was my first thought as well. It looks like you've been flooring it and scaring the crap out of your passengers.

It might be worth taking it to some sort of interior or upholstery specialist. Dealerships (yeah yeah, service centers) are good at replacing parts, but they rarely bother to learn tricks to actually repair a part.

Looks like you showed your passenger a white knuckle ride! Could be a super simple repair where heat could be applied and then pressed with a grain pad, and look amazing. Tricky and time consuming. But if there is penetration it will need to be filled grained cured and dyed for proper repair. I would search out a detailer who does leather and vinyl repair and has some good reviews.
