any change to windshield coating?

Does anyone know if newly manufactured cars still have the special coating that blocks radio signals? I am going over my options for a radar detector and tollway transponder mounting. I have no issue with a garage door opener mounted on the sun visor.

My last MB had the same coating on the windshield, but there were 3 spots left uncoated: Center bottom, and to the left and right of the rearview mirror.

I resorted to installing a Beltronics STi-R detector and currently working with my toll authorities for a placement that works for the toll tag. We've got a recently updated thread in the Texas forum section were several of us are trying various things.
