    I haven't found a answer anywhere on line, though I may not be asking the right question; may not understand what I'm reading; or, (heaven forbid) cannot understand animations.

    Do the stators "pull" the rotor around or "push" it. And, where does the "induction" come from in AC induction? The magnetic field "induced" by the stators/rotor?

    Thanks, Dr EVS. Don't know how I missed this. AC Induction Motors for Dummies. Pretty much what I thought so I guess I can continue to drive the Tesla with confidence.:)
