Any hints as to when the rear screen will do more than climate control?

I am long time Tesla owner, multiple Model S since 2015. The promise of functional rear screen needs some help. The idea of a functional rear screen for gaming, streaming, etc and separate bluetooth audio has been discussed since before the refresh was released. The location of the screen is terrible, but it would not be so bad if it actually was useful for something more than adjusting the rear climate controls. Any kid will simply use their 5+ year old tablet or phone to get a better gaming/streaming experience. I understand the critical nature of the fart app, but please let someone work on this too!!

Around the same time you can honk the horn with the center of the yoke? That was promised back in March.

Careful! Tesla is smart to never promise. "Working on it" or "Hoping" is quite different than promising it. I wonder if changing the horn might force a set of new crash tests since it's physically connected to the airbag.

If you are indeed a long time owner, like I am since 2015 too, I guess you learned to be patient, right? I think back then it was promised to have an app to manage the media from the back, in particular for the executive seats option. How long until we had some media control in the app? I’ll not iterate on all those other sw improvements that came over the years, sooner … or later.
One thing I noticed: it eventually comes. But can take years and will often not be right/fully functional the first time. Agile…

Teardowns of the airbag by Munro revealed no switches behind the airbag that can get activated by pressing the airbag. So its no wonder why we have not seen/will never see just a over the air update that will allow horn functionality via airbag on existing S's. (unless they add switches later)

I also would not hold my breath on being able to have separate viewing/separate audio on the rear screen, despite being promised that was going to be a thing

I agree. How hard can it be to allow the rear seat passengers control THEIR screen? At the very least allow streaming, please.

You have me confused. In my 2023, the rear screen can be controlled to stream all the same stuff the front screen can.
