My reservation shows October to December 2017 delivery. Anyone else with an early delivery month get to configure yet? Or get an update that is more than just "next steps"?

    Thanks.

    I'm guessing you're a previous Tesla owner?

Oct - Dec here too. No invitation yet.

I'm almost surprised that you're able to get your hands on one that early, given that a boat's required to get it to you. I'm not trying to rain on your parade in any way - just surprised there isn't a real delay with ocean transit involved.

I am in the Oct-Dec block as well, my father is a Tesla owner so used his registered email but under my name. Anyways, I find it wild that (theoretically) I could have the car in 6 weeks but can't configure anything yet. I also believe that we will be waiting until holiday time to actually get it.

Also in the same block, and a prior Tesla owner. I haven't heard anything but I don't think that's surprising. The production ramp will be agonizingly slow in the beginning with the majority of Oct-Dec orders slated for December delivery if I were to guess. Not that we're likely to be tempted to configure ours until AWD options come online.

Yeah, I could have used my X about a year earlier than it shipped, but I don't think I'll need my 3 for another year or two. So AWD performance model for me!

do previous owners get preference? . . . . . or are we really talking current owners (no pun intended). Wonder if multi car purchasers get shown any extra love.

Kind of. In the FAQ section, it says that owning one Tesla gives you priority slot for one Model 3. Owning multiple Teslas gives you priority slots for two Model 3s. So I guess that's a perk.

Likely just current owners, in that you have to have an email address that is attached to an active MyTesla account.

^ Does Tesla check current ownership status?
    If so, how?
Seems like previous owners would still be on a list showing a Tesla Purchase.

I think it's safe to say that the news will spread like wildfire the moment that the first non-employees are able to configure their cars.

Mine just went from "Sep-Dec" to "Oct-Jan".

I think us east-coasters got bumped a bit.
