I was reading about the new headlamps on the 2021 M3, they seem like a great upgrade. Has anyone had delivery or proof that the most recent MY has the new headlights? If not, I wonder if they would retrofit?
from Bjorn. Who lives in Norway and therefore has European headlights, which aren't legal in North America yet. The fact that the car was built in Freemont CA doesn't mean it is designed for US regulations. They ship them overseas.

The Y isn't being shipped to Europe so why would it have European headlights? As far as retrofitting, why would you want to retrofit European headlamps on a North American vehicle? Boredom?

typical US regulations limiting lighting innovation. Same thing with tail lights and turn signals. No fancy laser headlights for us peons in the US either.
Europe: laser beams and photon guns
US: tape a flashlight to your hood
