Any Southern California VIN assignments/deliveries for folks who configured after 6/27??

Hi guys,

Looking so far at the VIN assignments delivery threads/posts , it seems like for people who configured after 6/27, there have been very few deliveries reported from So Cal. Most of them have been outside California. That’s just my observation and I may be wrong. So I just wanted to start a thread specifically for So Cal to see if there are people who are getting their VINs or deliveries.

Please share your vehicle config date and specs if you are in southern CA, configured after 6/27 and have already been contacted by ISA/received VIN/or took delivery

Thanks.

My specs:
RWD/MSM/19” sport/EAP
Configured 6/30
NO contact from ISA or VIN yet.

Ordered 7/31 M3 LR blue silver wheels and was contacted 8/2 for delivery 8/12.. Received the VIN number that day... So much for 2-4 months...

Everyone getting vins quick, don't get too excited yet. I thought I was all set to pickup my car today but I got a call last evening and was told car didn't pass inspection. Found out about 30 other soon to be owners also had their deliveries canceled due to quality not being up to standards.

Sorry to be a downer for everyone excited but just want to temper your excitement and prepare you for what may be coming as well. Tesla can build 5k cars but if they can't paint 5k cars then it is all for nothing.

Marina del Rey delivery tomorrow AM was just cancelled for my LR RWD midnight silver 47xxx

No reservation (actually 2 prior reservations but both cancelled due to indecision)
7/26 order date
8/2 contacted for delivery date
8/9 delivery date that was just cancelled tonight (8/8)

My sales agent has been great thus far and I had even confirmed my VIN was onsite earlier today. Unfortunately, the person calling tonight said there is a batch of cars with issues being held up from delivery, and wasn’t able to say whether mine specifically had issues. Significant 1st world bummer... With the person saying there is a batch of them, I wonder how widespread this is.

Sounds like you are having the same issue I had. Myself and 30 others were all told delivery would be rescheduled due to paint issues. We are all waiting now for new vins. Best of luck to you.

Reserved on 3/31/2016.

Ordered P3D+ on August 4 with an "October - December" delivery estimate.

Contacted for delivery on August 7.

VIN assigned on August 8.

Home delivery scheduled for August 15.

:D

Interesting. Did they give you home delivery as an option, or was that your only choice? I picked up my TM3 on August 3rd from the Costa Mesa delivery center. I wonder if it is because they are backed up? Or maybe if they do home deliveries, people are less likely to refuse delivery if they see blemishes or imperfections on the car? I only bring that up because the delivery specialists insist on signing the delivery papers and having you drive the car outside even if you have finish issues, which they prefer we address thru service. Obviously they just want to close the sale.
Overall I thought the delivery experience was straightforward, but it just seems that these advisors really don't know that much about cars, other than the basic orientation they are trained to teach the new owners. Also, some of the greeters in the waiting area (as well as those in showrooms) seem displaced, or just not qualified to be in their roles. One greeter in the waiting area literally asked us the same question 5 times over a 20 minute period, "So who will be driving the car?" I of course answered politely each time, but it seemed strange.
With that being said, at least they contacted me before delivery to let me know the paint defect was too much to pass inspection. I had to wait another week but the TM3 is a fantastic car and blows away any car that I've previously owned. I've only driven it twice since delivery as I'm waiting to put PPF on it, but I've been sitting in the car every night after the kids are asleep, enjoying everything about the interior and installing my vinyl accent pieces :)

Home delivery was my only choice. Costa Mesa is a tiny building, and with upwards of 100 deliveries a day, they're probably looking to relieve some foot traffic congestion at the store. I live close by, so roundtrip shouldn't be more than half hour, assuming I don't get nitpicky with delivery.

So far, the order process for the Model 3 has been much more streamlined than when we took delivery of our Model X last year. I was contacted by a sales specialist in Fremont shortly after I ordered, and we've been communicating via e-mail and phone pretty much every day since. All my questions have been answered, and everything -seems- in order for delivery next week. Fingers crossed.

Ordered on 8/3. Delivery is scheduled for 8/18 at the Marina. Never reserved. Not a former Tesla owner. If this works out, this was a pretty fast process. Let's hope there are no cancellations due to defects. BTW, do the cars come fully charged? Thanks.
