Any third party, LED rear tail lights for the Model S instead of the crappy, 2000s looking ones we have?

Yes, I've seen a lot of especially Model X driving with rear fogs on. Driver probably too stupid to understand what they turned on.

This seems like a bad idea as they are so bright that it's not that easy to see the actual brake lamps..

A few days after I wrote that, the new tail lights got leaked. I’m trying to get my hands on the new tails and see if I can retrofit them first
