Any tricks to identifying Gen1 or Gen2 TPMS

Anyone know a trick to identify the Gen1 vs gen2 tpms inside a wheel?

I know I can mount them up and see if they register - looking for some way faster/easier than that...

If you decide to mount one to see, you can mount it in a small wheel and tire, like a trailer tire. Old trick before Tesla's were around.
A friend could not get the TPMS to clear on his truck. So he mounted it in a trailer tire and put it behind the rear seat. Fooled the truck.
