@chojn1 Could you provide some more detail how to use the connectors in your links to run more than one led from the connectors in the right console 12v source?

I'd like to run LEDs under the screen like your example as well as 2 others under each front seat but not sure how to tap power without damaging original wiring

The wire is great to replace the existing LED light in the front cubby, but it's even better if you just use a splitter to keep the OEM light and also add the one for under the display. I bought this console light and I plan on splitting the power when I install it.

@SemoTech I went to go buy the console light from @chojn1 but it seems to be sold out. I can purchase a led with 12v wiring here but i cant figure out how to attach the proper connector.

I know @chojn1 has linked the mouser parts but I cannot figure out how these work/attach to the 12v wiring. Any ideas?

I've read your DiY guide and i understand how the install should work but since your center console LED light is sold out, I was looking into making my own.

I know you included the plug parts in your DiY guide but I can't figure out how they should fit to the end of the 22 guage stranded wire. Hi @PNWLeccy,
The pins crimp on to the end of the bare wires coming from the LED. You do need a crimping tool for this.
The cover plate slide on to the plug once the pins are in place to secure the wires from coming loose.

Finally installed the MYMOD3 console light and it is amazing. So much easier to see the center storage area at night plus it looks cool.

Ah I think I now understand. Unfortunately, one of the cover plate parts has a minimum order quantity of 100 so I don't think I'll be going that route. I would prefer to buy your pre-wired led but I see it's currently out of stock.

Glad to hear you got it installed. I thought the best feature was the ability to turn it on and off with the lid. Keeps the car dark until I need the light.

Don't know why the dome lights are slightly yellow and not bright white. I have them turned off for now


Ordered blue transparent wrap and will cut out and put over the lights so my interior will be illuminated blue

So what I want to do, is add a rectangle light, similar to those in our trunk to the area just in front of the OH light/switch that will illuminate the dash and seats. So Is it possible to pull the current housing down and attach to the wires of the little round light on the driver's side?

It's kinda like the OE lights in the trunk and puddles, all of them were way too dim, so I've upgraded those, but I really want more light in the front cabin area.

@chojn1 I finally took apart the center console and the 2 pin jst connector I had attached to my LED didnt fit into the connector in the console. Is the center console connector a 3 pin? I know you included the mouser parts but I have to buy the whole connector

I'm looking for the round map lights in the ceiling. Haven't seen any replacements sold anywhere.

The LED is soldered on so it is not easy to remove and solder on a new one. The amp draw of the new LED would be different from the original and may not work with the board anyway.

Sorry about that. Was not sure if anyone was interested.
Open the right side of the center console.
There is a two wire (brown and white) plug which connects the LED from inside the middle center console to 12v.
Unplug this, and plug in your own 12v LED. The plug/connector is the same one used in all the interior LED's.
Attach that LED to the underside of the display mount.
The lid open/close sensor is not wired in line with this power line, so you're good to go.

This is the LED strip and connector I used for the trunk. You only need a strip of 3 LED for this purpose.

Where do you get the connectors for these lights?? I want to wire in a small led in a model 3 for the back seat area.
