Ya, they offered pickup tomorrow but unfortunately I'm going to be out of town. I kinda didn't believe it was actually there but stopped by today and found my VIN on the lot. Pick up scheduled for next Thursday because of work conflicts.

I'm either the one anti-horror story or maybe it's better than we think. Delivery was scheduled for 11/15 the day after I ordered. That date has been beaten. My IDA was in contact daily. No issues with financing or coordinating and then cancelling a trade-in. It honestly couldn't have been easier or quicker.

What is your VIN?

85xxx

I ordered very late last Sunday night, Oct 28. I got my VIN on the 29th and was contacted by my delivery specialist who confirmed a Nov 16 delivery. I was shocked by the speed.

Same here. I couldn't find anything wrong with the car. Doesn't seem like a reject from someone else. Think I just lucked out with the selected options and pre-scheduled shipping lottery.

My friend who pre-ordered an LR and was one of the first to receive it who also seems to know everything about Tesla told me before I got my VIN that he imagined mine would be delivered very quickly because it's the highest MSRP M3 you can configure, down to the color. Did you order a Performance model as well? I'm not sure how they run their line, but I imagine they're cranking out cars as fast as possible, there could be a policy that Performance get priority and whenever an order comes in, next chassis down the line gets assigned to any available Performance order. If you want to maximize revenue on the M3 line/business, that's a simple way to do it.

In talking with my delivery advisor, he seemed to imply it might come even earlier. Not directly, but I told him I had some travel around the delivery date, and he just said, "No problem, it might come in early, if it does, I'll let you know and we can deliver it earlier." No mention of delays, but I'm not holding my breath, I was expecting the car in mid/late December.

My VIN is: 83XXX

I am curious about the emblem and spoiler. I plan to chrome delete shortly after delivery, so having the emblem would be nice and avoid a second trip.

Your order configuration happened to match exactly with a car that was already built and had been shipped to a distribution center in your city.

Congratulations! :D

Is there any risk it’s a rejected or returned vehicle? How does Tesla handle that? My turnaround was also quick, not that quick though. My advisor lead me to believe the car hasn’t shipped and due to Texas law would not ship until entirely confirmed and paid for. I paid in full minutes after getting the VIN. It does make me wonder, do these cars come with like 0 miles, what happens if I reject a car due to let’s say paint issues. Does Tesla take it back to the district center and try to unload it on the next buyer or do they send it to the factory? What’s the highest mileage one should expect at delivery?

In my case, they’re delivering to my home and I have no idea if someone is driving it or if it’s being dropped off on a truck. If the former, no idea how far someone has to drive it.
