Not seen anything since 2018.6 1
The new nav system seems to be US-only for now, according to various posts in the Model S forum (sorry, don’t have a link handy at the moment).
Well that sux
Not quite true. This from ev_fw “
Model Build #Updates #Cars Countries
S 2018.12 127 127 Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Netherlands,
Norway, Portugal, Sweden, United States”
So 127 reports so far.
We'll get the firmware update, but we won't get the new nav. That's activated separately depending on region, just like the browser, HomeLink, fob summon, Spotify…
Hmm....I was really hanging out for an amazing update on Sat Nav!
From what I know so far us in the UK also don't have the updated maps yet (although I do have 18.12). Would be nice to have some kind of indication when the new maps will be arriving on non-US cars.
My car is currently installing what could only be 2018.12, as I was on 2018.10.4 previously. Having said that I have read elsewhere that the maps are North America only at this stage.
<gripe gripe>Would be good to not always be kept in the dark, and announcements aren't made that we're getting this on such and such date and in fact it is only USA getting these light years ahead updates....</gripe gripe>
Ok, have 2018.12, changelog refers to opening Trunk/Frunk with the Tesla app. No mention of mapping changes, pretty much as expected.
I got my 2018.12 last Friday morning but a buddy who lives 2kms away and has a MX90D and a MS75 hasn't received anything on either car. Go figure.
Ah it just sux man... Sux sux sux...
Apparently the maps update is additional to the normal firmware update.
You need 2018.12 for it to start downloading maps, then you get a separate alert to accept the new maps.
Not that any of this matters for Australia yet.
That's it, I'm moving to California...
Don't stress. I haven't seen any change in nav.
