Anyone accidentally done this to steering wheel?

Has anyone accidentally pulled the cable out while changing a steering wheel? (See pic) If so, how did you fix this? Thanks

Just one hidden reason Tesla is expensive ??

Even if you were able to get it reinstalled, would you really trust that it is not pinched somewhere? It does control everything in your steering wheel and the airbag. You may want to look at replacing it with a new clock spring. Good luck.

One of the functions of the clock spring, is to provide the steering angle input to the abs/traction control system. Replace it. Just my .02 cents.

Intentional or not, asking "wind up doing" about a clock spring is funny.

I ended up having Tesla Mobile Service come out and replace the part.

It has full range once they replaced the part.

I got an estimate $1500, was that your estimate first? I just really need the wires to be replaced and put back in.

Yup $500 to install new clockspring and set so I installed the new wheel

Just did the same when installing yoke, have installed twice prior without issue, anyway, will report back after Tuesdays in-house service (Australia)
