Anyone else hopeful for FSD subscription?

Hopefully Elon’s tweet comes to fruition in early 2021!

It would depend on how many people take the subscription verses buying. From the videos I have seen the software has a long way to go before I would pay 10K for it. I might however try it on a monthly basis.

I'm guessing $300 a month, maybe more.
If it starts to get really good I'm betting it will get even more expensive.

It sounds great - but for me it just means I'll be hanging onto my car until the wheels fall off.
FSD is already way more than I paid 2-3 years ago, so if I sold my car and bought a new Model 3 I'd be paying much more money for the same features. Just not worth it.
I dread to think what FSD is going to cost when my Cybertruck is ready for delivery, maybe enough for me to settle on basic AP.

releasing a subscription when the current public version is minutely better than autopilot is laughable. If the latest version of FSD that's in beta right now was much better I would consider subscription, but as of now at any price more than my monthly Netflix is a IQ test

I'm thinking between $100 and $200/month.
Too much and people won't subscribe, or will subscribe months they feel it will be beneficial to them then cancel.
I like this idea more than paying the entire cost upfront and not being able to transfer it to a new Tesla in the future.
Maybe higher month to month and a cheaper monthly fee with an annual agreement?

What monthly fee must be charged to make this program revenue neutral for Tesla, compared to $10,000 purchasing.

Remember Elon and Zack said it would cost more than adding FSD to your loan/lease. Adding FSD to a Model Y currently adds about $150/month. So that means something like $200/month would likely be the minimum they charge for the subscription. (And if they raise the purchase price from $10k the subscription price will go up as well.)

100/month is too low to justify 10k FSD, why would anyone buy FSD at 10k then. 200-300 appears to be the sweet spot. Also, is subscription cancellable? trial period? I would just subscribe to FSD for a month when I need to go on long trip and then cancel until I need it again.

I doubt it’s going to be $100 per month, that would mean a 100 months cost equivalent (or revenue equivalent). That is almost beyond any avg car ownership period.

$200 would make sense as it is just a bit over 4 years and the warranty coverage of the car which means it would not make sense for Tesla.

$250-$300 would make sense. Maybe for a monthly sub and cheaper for annuals. Keep in mind this is all assuming FSD prices stays at 10k which is unlikely over the next 3-5 years.

I guess is that when Elon said it’s a good investment for Tesla owners it means if you keep the car for 10 years, the price of the FSD will be more than the physical car itself. If he is still thinking the worth is because of RoboTaxi, good luck. Our regulations will take forever to pass that. We can’t even change the headlight specs to modern times.

I don’t think it’s this simple. Many people (me) find the $10,000 absolutely ridiculous and would never pay that. I think a subscription is intriguing and would probably try it out if the price isn’t ridiculous. I suspect it will be, but hoping for something reasonable like $100-200 month. Other than R&D (which they’d do anyway), it costs Tesla nothing to get FSD into more driver’s hands, even at a lower cost. Just my opinion and speculation, of course. Who really knows?

Anyone think it could be an a la carte or tiered subscription where you pick the features you want? Not having FSD (or even a Tesla yet), I'm not sure how it would break apart but it maybe EAP and then FSD?
