Anyone else try Dark Satin Gray chrome delete.

There isn't a really great match for the factory pearl white color. I had the handles on my X done in 3M's closest match along with satin black for everything else. You can see differences in terms of hue/tone and metallic content, especially at angle. It is like 90% match. Bottom line, I wouldn't do chrome delete with the intent of matching the paint color.
Not vinyl - paint.

Came across this DSG chrome delete pic online from a YouTuber TeslaRaj.

I've got the kit from Tesla Bros sitting right next to me, but no car for at least another 10 days, unfortunately!

If you're not in a rush I'll post pics eventually, hopefully before the end of this month.

In the meantime, here's a close-up look at one of the pieces. Taken it outside, overcast skies.

Did you get your 3 yet?
Still planning on chrome delete by the end of the month?

I've got it but haven't had time to do the delete yet (and the weather isn't great right now in Vancouver).

Still trying to get it done before the end of the month though.

Not sure if you've seen already but, check out Tesla_Raj on Instagram he has more few pics of his DSG delete up.

I use Duplicolor wrap first then if I like it I will peel off and use real paint. But so far, it has held up and I've been lazy to redo
Chrome trim was painted as well as the wooden center dash to make things flow.

I've seen some of Tesla_Raj pics ... I'll have to check for new stuff.
Good luck getting yours done!

What is the name of the Duplicolor wrap you used here? Did you use the Frozen Vanilla 3M vinyl on the handles and side cameras?

Duplicolor customwraps : graphite metallic matte

* handle wrap was from one of the online vendors : done when I first got the car but it needs to be redone so wrap goes around the edges

* side camera was from ebay overseas vendor, also needs wrap or paint to better match the car.

It does look great up close and is certainly less boring than satin or matte black. Problem is that from a distance (>5 feet away) it looks like a washed-out / bleached black as the fine details/"metallic" look of the DSG wrap get lost.

That's definitely true, but with the matching grey rims, I think the mind goes to grey first before a washed-out black. Hard to tell in pictures regardless.

Finally did the Dark Satin chrome delete!!
And I'd say that I finally got the looks where I want it...

Exterior mods:
  • Color matched (painted) door handles

I've always liked the look of the body color matched door handles but as someone else mentioned it's hard to get an exact paint match with wraps. Where / how did you have this done? Also how much $, if you don't mind sharing that.

I agree. Most of the colors are very hard to match with vinyl. I had ~5" scratch on my front bumper that I decided to get fixed. Since it was already at the body shop and they had paint mixed up, I had them spray the handles as well.

At one point, he quoted me $200 but ended up not charging me.

Also, I just had the face of the handles painted. We left the handles in place. They aren't 100% perfect, but I am very happy with them given the effort and cost.
I actually prefer the back of the handles not painted. I did a full wrap for a while, and they looked like plastic.

If you are ambitious, it isn't that hard to remove the door handles.
