Anyone got pics of the hatchback open?

The trunk is a deal breaker for me. I wonder if anyone has a pic of a full view of open Y trunk and distance off the ground the bottom of trunk is.?

And will it be with an electrical motor?

There will not be a motor in the trunk. It is forward of the trunk inline with the rear axle. That is not so say that the trunk space may not be reduced by the motor's volume. But, I can tell you on my X we can put 6 grocery bags in the below the floor well behind the motor and in front of the rear bumper.

You missed his inquiry by a mile there, bud! He meant to ask if the rear hatch will have a motor to open and close it automatically instead doing it manually like the Model 3.

I hear the hatch with completely open and close without the help a\of any human.

I drove next to a blue one yesterday near the HQ. First impression are 1. It looked great - e.g. full production and 2. It was hard to immediately tell the difference vs. model 3, but the lines and proportions seem to work better. Tesla is going to sell a very very large quantity of these.

One think I noticed is the 3rd row didn't have headrests..., Hope it can get added. I wouldn't want one of my kids back there with no headrests. In one of the videos online looked like top of seats had holes for it but they weren't on

The headrests seem to retractable.

Model 3 interior width between the narrowest part (wheels) is about 37".

i agree, and from some of the pics that have floated around, i think the vehicle in general is bigger than we might fear.

Wonder why they made the wheel wells go all the way to the top? Most SUVs only go half way. Wish we knew for sure that it has a power lift gate. They really need to provide full details in their descriptions.

I'm pretty sure I saw an official notice that it would definitely have a power liftgate.

Just saw someone get picked up in a Blue Model Y at San Jose Airport! The lift gate automatically opened when pressed, opened up fairly wide, not too slow either. Very similar to the X’s.

Yes. You have to lay them at an angle, but I’ve fit 3 in the Model 3 trunk.

Well, I sure hope this photo is verified, because it made me place a preorder tonight.

Keeping the Model 3, but with the amount of cargo room I see here, the Y just became viable to replace our Enclave.
