Anyone got their delivery time frame missed?

I was given delivery time frame of 1/19 - 2/2. My P number is 4082 and was assigned Vin number 3847 on 1/13/1 3. My configuration is Silver, 60 Kwh, pan-roof, tech package and I live in the LA area. It appears to me that several forum members who lives in LA with higher P and Vin numbers with similar configuration have received their car last week. I called 2 days ago and was told that my car is still in production and will probably be ready next week. I am starting to wonder if there is any problem with my car during the production process. Maybe it failed test? I hope I am not getting a Lemon. Anyone have their delivery time frame missed?

It may very well have failed a test, but that in no way means you're getting a lemon. It could be something as simple as failing the water test and needing a door seal replaced, who knows. The whole point of testing is to find and fix any problems before you get the car. Every car you've ever bought may have gone through this same sort of process, except for American cars back in the 70's, where they just shipped them and let the customer bring it back in for service.

Sounds like all the Land Rovers ever made to me. I don't think I've ever seen a high-priced brand with more problems out of the box except perhaps for Jaguar.

Jag probably earned that reputation. But you date yourself using that reference these days. My Model S stopgap - purchased in Jan. 2010, just after reserving my S - was a Jaguar XF Supercharged. I drove that car every day for three years, a 75 mile round trip commute, plus longer trips out to clients, for three years. In 50k miles, I had absolutely no problems with a car that was sexy and an absolute joy to drive. No warranty work, period. It killed me to sell it last week in anticipation of my S and in recognition of the fact that I don't need (and don't want to insure) two luxury sport sedans. I remain skeptical that the S will surpass the smile that the Jag could put on my face. If it does, it truly is the car everyone here has been describing, and that I've been waiting for for over three years.

My window was missed as of yesterday. Tentatively this coming Wednesday, but I'm not betting on it.
    3 years, 6 months, 8 days...

    And still counting.

Missed my window yesterday too. Car was done and ready to ship before the start of my window (1/18).
No ETA, last contact was Thursday that they were still trying to get it shipped out from the factory. Looks like deliveries 1000 VINs later are happening now, seems like the ones coming right off the line are getting priority over those they finished awhile ago

Our window was December 7-21. Actual delivery was January 9.

What contact should I have had during the delivery process? I'm about a third of the way through the delivery window, and I haven't received any e-mail or call since the generic e-mail telling me when the window is. (I find it puzzling when people refer to "my DS." Am I supposed to have an identified person who is my DS?)

Yes, but they are really busy so you'll only get to know who that person is either because it's time for your delivery or you contact Tesla for some reason.

Which delivery window are you referring to? There is one on the pre-MVPA paperwork (with a 2-3 month range), you get a more specific delivery window after completing the pre-delivery questionnaire/clicking the Delivery button in mytesla.

If you have that more specific delivery window, once your final MVPA paperwork is ready (soon after tesla knows your VIN, and tesla is ready to give you the final amount due), a DS should contact you to sign that paperwork.

My delivery window provided with my VIN ends tomorrow. The car may ( or may not) ship from the factory then. In my case the cause was my bank asking for a copy of the Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin before they would fund the loan. The guys at TM are busy and despite many calls per day it took 2 weeks to produce the document. :-(

I have what I believe is my final delivery window--January 31 to February 12. The e-mail asked whether I wanted delivery to my home or a service center, and I chose the latter. I did call the reservations number last week and got my VIN; the woman said she couldn't tell me when delivery would be.

You should be getting a DS call pretty soon then if you have a VIN. If you are financing or expect any specialness with your paperwork you could contact delivery directly to try to get someone sooner. It seems they've upped the production rate even more the last few weeks, stressing the delivery even more than it was before...

I actually find it kind of comforting that a missed delivery window is cause for a panicked thread these days. It shows how much more accurate and improved the delivery process has gotten.

For the signature series, if you had fewer than 3 missed delivery windows you were considered one of the lucky ones. We contemplated pulling our deposit when we didn't have our car yet 2.5 months after our first delivery window had ended (and yes, for early-ish Sigs you could get a full refund if TSLA missed the delivery window by 30+ days, but this was later changed).

Once you get the car though, all the anger and anxiety goes away really quickly. Be patient, but stay in constant contact with your DES.

I agree. I too drive a Jag (XJ8) now and, because it has over 250K and no resale value and is fairly cheap to insure, I will probably keep as a backup it until it dies, which it is giving no signs of doing. It is fun, comfortable and reliable. I hope that my Tesla grin will outdo my Jaguar smile.

Well, I finally got an e-mail saying my car is in the final stages of production. If that's the case, it seems unlikely they'll make the delivery window, which ends in a week. At least there was a name on the e-mail (it said product specialist...I assume that's different from a delivery specialist).

I got the same email a week ago. It had a list of 3 or 4 things I needed to do. I did them all right away with the exception of the delivery questionnaire which is NOT on my dashboard. The button still says view design. My "product specialist" is very nice but told me that she can't fix the web page but it's an easy fix. SHe told me she emailed the "guy"who does have access to fix it but he apparently hasn't done it yet. Her last email said that she would email me when it is fixed. It's been about a week after her second email to the web fixer guy but still says "view design." I'm guessing it wont delay the manufacturing of my MS so I'm just waiting patiently. From reading the forum it seems possible (likely?) that I could actually have my car and that button could still say "view design."

EDIT/UPDATE: I figured I'd better update this post before anyone else panics. I checked with my PS. She clarified that the email I'm talking about is NOT a stock computer generated email. It's a personal one that SHE sends to HER customers. I apologize if anyone freaked. It looked officialand I didn't know it wasn't standard.

My button also still says "view design." It's odd you don't have the delivery questionnaire, which I got 2-3 weeks ago--even though I got the to-do list e-mail just tonight.
