I am hoping for a perfect delivery after all the things that have happened this far. I am in between Week 9 and 10 from configuration.

2/22 Configuration - White, Sport, EAP
4/10 - VIN assigned
4/23 - First contact with ISA - scheduled delivery for 4/26
4/25 - Car missed the truck, rescheduled delivery for 5/1.
4/30 - Call from Delivery Specialist - Car has a broken part (Power seat switch). Hopefully the part will come in tomorrow and it will be fixed ASAP, otherwise it would be another delay...

At this rate I am not counting on getting the car tomorrow.

This is AZ btw and I know their resources are strained because they are doing a group delivery.

Close to perfect in Austin, TX. Even swapped the usbA/lighting cable for another usbC with the guy next to me who was also picking up.

Mine has the headlight bulge, as does my neighbor's and all the 3s I saw being prepped. They were all consistent left/right. So either this is intentional or an outright design defect---doesn't look like assembly error to me.

One extremely tiny clearcoat scratch on the frunk---which was made bigger by me rubbing it to see if if was a scratch. Will easily buff out.

Could you post to close up picture of what you’re talking about.
I’ll have to check and see if it is on ours.
Delivery April 17

So we went to pick up our Model 3 today and they refused to deliver to us for a very minor issue. First let me say the car was perfect. The pearl white paint was beautiful. Smooth as glass and no signs of any orange peel. I looked closely down the sides. The opening seams were perfectly aligned and not one cosmetic issue that I could see. I am somewhat a perfectionist, have been a car nut my whole life and keep my cars in like new condition. I would notice even very small issues. Vin is 205XX

The reason they refused to deliver is they discovered just before delivery that there was a small (and I mean small, less than 1/8" wide, by a few inches long) amount of excess seam sealant in the rain channel (the part you can't see) near the trunk. They had removed the excess sealant and now there was a small area with no finish paint along that seam. Keep in mind all this is hidden by the deck lid.

I was trying to convince them to let us take delivery and bring it back later for paint touch up later but they refused. They could not release any car that had a "manufacturing defect". The trunk rain channels actually looked well finished, with no sealant visible, beautiful glossy paint nicely finished. Almost as good as the outside of the car except for that small area. In the end I would have rather had the car.

They went through everything on the car with us and will deliver to our home in a few days. They will have the small area in the rain channel spray painted by a body shop. No kid with a paint touch up kit!

So the first thing I did when I got back home was look at the rain channel area in the trunk of our BMW. Yes, you know......excess sealant coming from the seams.

I really think Tesla is going over the top on the finish of the cars.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, makes me feel a little better. Still waiting on my VIN, config 4/13.

There were no issues I could find on the car at delivery, very happy with the experience. VIN 176xx.

However, I did have a small metal piece fall off of the charging port door when I got home. I superglued it back into place and followed up with an email to service, who readily admitted it's a known issue and the solution was....to superglue it back. :)

Picked mine up last evening, delivery was just about as flawless as it could be. The person who did the orientation was great, but only it was only their third one so they were a little off on a couple things, but I imagine they will get better as time goes. They were very excited to go over the car since this is our first Tesla. They showed me that the charge door was not wanting to close and replaced that while we did the paperwork. Car was fully charged and the overall experience was great. My issues were leading up to the delivery since getting someone to call you back at the time they told you or at all seemed rather hard for them.

I'm very happy with the car, the 2.5 hour drive home from the store gave me plenty of time to feel how it drove. Also got to experience the proximity alarm, thankfully collision was avoided, still not sure if it was me or the car that swerved to miss being sideswiped by a semi whose driver thought it was a good idea to pass in the downpour that was so bad I couldn't see the lines in front of me and came into my lane about halfway through passing me. I would have been royally pissed off if he'd hit me.

My only complaint was that my appointment felt a bit rushed. The car was great though. I did see the (non?)issue under the headlights as far as alignment, but I think it’s supposed to be that way. @tracksyde and I looked at a car (Acura??) next to my 3 and it was pretty much the same. I think some people may be looking too hard for flaws. Just enjoy the car, they’re beautiful!

Picked mine up last evening....

So there is a Model 3 in my neck of the woods... I'll have to keep an eye out for it! Do you happen to drive through the main part (Route 9 & 146) of town on weekdays 5:00ish??

I am having Tesla (Solar City) install a 125 amp subpanel & a 14-50 outlet in my garage this Thursday, in anticipation of a hopefully June delivery.

How do you like the car?

Yeah, actually there's a couple, there's a guy in the area that also has a blue one, and I just saw a white one at Peddler's.
I live off of 146 so I'm driving through that area at various times. I'm usually at the intersection on my work days around 6:30p.

I've got Solar City on my roof as well, had it installed a few years ago. I have a Level 2 charger that I got from Honda when I had the FitEV. I got an adapter for the UMC to plug into the 6-50 outlet that it used.

I am very happy with the car, I've noticed a few little things after seeing the post on another thread about the weatherstripping warping, so if I ever have a reason to go back down there I will probably have them look at it, but it's definitely not enough of an issue for a 5 hour round trip. If you not already, look up the Capital District EV Drivers group on Facebook. There is a nice large group of owners there with an assortment of different EV's. They also post various meet ups or events in the area that will have EV's at them or to get owners to bring them out to educate people.

My delivery in Littleton, CO, back in February was about as perfect as it could be. The car looked perfect inside and out, and everything went flawlessly smooth. I still haven't had any issues with the car beyond a firmware update that caused the battery louver doors to move constantly. I called and they updated my firmware in ~48 hours and that was that. But aside from learning that not every new firmware is a good firmware, everything else with the car has been great.

Thanks for the info. I asked to join the FB group (pending). My only chance to see the car, so far, was at the Tesla event at the Empire State Plaza a couple months ago.

Well they are getting 3 EV's for the Delmar Farmers Market Saturday from 9-1, they have no Model 3 yet, so I may volunteer my car and time that morning if you are wanting a closer look or ride once it's over.
