My HPWC is listed but hasn't had any takers. Not surprising really since my house is off the beaten path and there is a supercharger not too far away. Anyway, I didn't want the whole world to know the exact address where a Tesla lives, so I listed it with the address of the public school 5 minutes away. I also put a note on the listing that says the location is not exact and to contact me for the address.

I'm starting to see if the city, local university or hospital will host it. Better there then at a house I think? If that doesn't work, I will revisit.

I own a commercial building, but it is in a tough neighborhood at night. Not sure I want to be there after midnight, though it is likely just fine. No restroom or restaurant close either.

Yes, I first got our Model S in March of 2014, and there were no Superchargers along I-84 in Idaho for about the first year and a half I had the car. So I listed the 14-50 in my garage as soon as we got the car. I got to meet people from a few other states that traveled through to charge at my house. We would go hang out for lunch or dinner and talk for a few hours while they charged--it was awesome! Some of the other draw of it was that Boise didn't even have any hotels that offered any kind of charging. So people would plan their overnight in Twin Falls, where a hotel did have charging, and then hit my house to fill the gap to and from Pendleton Oregon, where the Wild Horse casino resort had charging available. Since the Supercharger got built here in Boise that stopped of course, and I do miss it. I've also gotten to use someone else's outlet on Plugshare when I went to Heber City Utah for a concert. I left my car charging at their garage while my wife and I walked about a mile away for the concert, and it worked out really well.

We have hosted four or five Model S visitors. It's a great way to meet other owners and spread some infrastructure good will. Now that Denton and Sulfur Springs have Superchargers, however, I expect we'll see far fewer people needing to charge.

Funny follow-up story regarding my previous Plugshare experiences.

I went to Salt Lake City for Comic Con this past weekend. When I was at the SLC Supercharger Sunday morning, filling up to head back, I was the only one there, but then a Model X pulled up. I hadn’t gotten to actually see the inside of one, so I went over to talk with the guy. He was happy to show me stuff about it and let me sit in the front and back seats to check it out.

I talked with the guy, and he admitted to being a LOCAL! (Sorry, ongoing forum joke) Anyway, while we were talking, he mentioned about his dad, who lives in Seattle, had reserved a Model S and waited quite a while for theirs a few years ago. He said it was a grey one with the license plate GASKICKER. Now all of this was starting to sound really familiar, and I mentioned about how I think I had seen a grey Model S with the GASKICKER plate, and I knew a Tesla owner from Seattle, because he had charged at my garage a couple of times coming through Idaho before the Superchargers were installed on I-84. Then it further hit me that they were traveling down to see his son who lived in Salt Lake City. Ah ha!! Sure enough, I mentioned his name, and that was the guy’s dad. I mentioned my name, and he had heard his dad talk about me before. He said his dad was actually on his way to visit right now and should be arriving there at the Supercharger shortly. I stayed a little bit longer, but my car was full, so I left and didn’t get to see him when he got there.
