Funny follow-up story regarding my previous Plugshare experiences.
I went to Salt Lake City for Comic Con this past weekend. When I was at the SLC Supercharger Sunday morning, filling up to head back, I was the only one there, but then a Model X pulled up. I hadn’t gotten to actually see the inside of one, so I went over to talk with the guy. He was happy to show me stuff about it and let me sit in the front and back seats to check it out.
I talked with the guy, and he admitted to being a LOCAL! (Sorry, ongoing forum joke) Anyway, while we were talking, he mentioned about his dad, who lives in Seattle, had reserved a Model S and waited quite a while for theirs a few years ago. He said it was a grey one with the license plate GASKICKER. Now all of this was starting to sound really familiar, and I mentioned about how I think I had seen a grey Model S with the GASKICKER plate, and I knew a Tesla owner from Seattle, because he had charged at my garage a couple of times coming through Idaho before the Superchargers were installed on I-84. Then it further hit me that they were traveling down to see his son who lived in Salt Lake City. Ah ha!! Sure enough, I mentioned his name, and that was the guy’s dad. I mentioned my name, and he had heard his dad talk about me before. He said his dad was actually on his way to visit right now and should be arriving there at the Supercharger shortly. I stayed a little bit longer, but my car was full, so I left and didn’t get to see him when he got there.
