Anyone interested in this HUD for your model 3

Hi,

I placed the order for this one yesterday
HUDWAY Drive: The best head-up display for any car

and I tried searching for people talking about this and found nothing.

This hud product is designed to fit model 3's dash and you can use Waze - it's basically an airplay receiver for your iphone.

I don't have a model 3 yet (waiting for VIN atm) so I don't really know how practical it is to have a separate screen showing different navigation info (Waze e.g.) from the car's own navigation system (Google maps?).

If you have used a hud for your 3, please let me know how practical it is when the info the HUD shows doesn't come from your car.

I think they should put on on the S refresh at least People drawn to the S want a second display.

I was interested in the IR night vision cam, but it's $1000 and you'd have to do quite a bit of surgery for the cam to see forward.

You wasted your money. The screen in the Model 3 is very easy to get used to. From the looks of that thing, it's not as much an HUD as something in the way of seeing out the windshield. But, to each his or her own.

Personally, I'd love a HUD and I’d pay quite a bit for an option that seamlessly blends in. No silly box sitting on top and definitely not onto a separate tiny screen. Windshield only or no deal.

Mazda oem hud is pretty similar and it was in no way intrusive. I'd gladly pay for one of these if I get a tesla.

I like the Mazda style transparent panel. Prefer it to projection type HUD.

Will not support crowdfunding prototypes though. No thanks

I also pre-ordered one prior to talking delivery of my M3. I had an Accord with a HUD that I loved - with Android auto Waze directions worked with it. I thought I'd really miss it but after 3 days with the Tesla I cancelled the order. Turns out I'm fine without it. I don't really want it cluttering up the dash and having to connect it to a phone & manage it separately from the car's systems was an open concern.

I have this on order, originally expecting to use it in my ICE with the OBDII port being convenient to access. Now I'm wondering if I'll use it since the OBDII port is all the way in the center console :s

Work is considering using them for a project, but I get concerned when I see dates slipping endlessly, and a Russian phone number.
