Anyone missing a model S in Southern California?

Came to charge at summit chargers Friday and seen this model s... came back today and it’s still here. Called the police and gave plate number confirmed stolen.

Nose cone was hanging when I came back today. By the time I left police still hadn’t shown up. Car was plugged into charger. So the police will have fun trying to get it out.

Maybe that's why the thieves left it - couldn't get the plug undone.

It's possible to remotely copy the FOB but more likely that the thief managed to steal the FOB.

VIN says it's a 2015 Model S, so it's MCU was probably on its last legs. Perhaps the MCU died on the car, making it impossible for thieves to unplug and drive away (after trying to jump start it via the nosecone, which they probably googled how to do).

See, and you guys thought MCU dying was a bug, it's an anti theft feature!

Also another reason why you should activate the Pin to Drive, so even if someone steels the fob, unless you provide the code to them, they can't drive away with your Model S.

Also - if the police can confirm the car was stolen, that means it was reported which means the police should know who the owner is.

Mine is 2016 January car, did it last year and it cost €141.50 per fob plus €6.21 for 3V battery (tax not included). You should qualify for sure...

It must have been owned by a dealer, otherwise the owner could have just tracked it in their app. Stolen on a test drive makes sense. That said, you’d think the OP would notice if it had a dealer plate or advertisement in the plates place like most cars in dealer lots do.

Had a paper plate like if it was just sold pending metal plates. I stated I gave the the police the plate number in original post.
